And not because it's trying to be something it's not. Just a place where good people gather to enjoy great drinks & ambiance. That's what Proper Hop is built on.
From Our Owner + Founder
Proper Hop is my love letter to beer and to the people who enjoy it.
From storage to glass, every detail matters. Behind the bar, I take pride in the things you might never notice: meticulously cleaned draft lines, proper storage, and thoughtful pour technique all so every pint is served exactly as it should be: fresh, flavorful, and full of character.
Our focus is beer, but the bar goes beyond that. We also serve a curated selection of wine and whiskey, chosen with the same care as what’s on tap whether you’re in the mood for a crisp glass, a bold pour, or a slow-sipping dram.
Upstairs is the heart of Proper Hop Taphouse, classic, welcoming, and built for great drinks and easy conversation. It’s an all-ages space where everyone is welcome, including well-behaved dogs. Downstairs, you’ll find the Lounge: a 21+ retreat designed for a more intimate, elevated experience. It’s a place to slow down, settle in, and enjoy your drink in a quieter, more refined setting.
To complete the experience, we’ve partnered with our neighbors at Moxie Burger. Order from their menu, and they’ll deliver your food straight to your table — so you can enjoy great food without ever leaving your seat.
But Proper Hop is about more than what’s in your glass. It’s about connection, community, and creating a space that feels intentional and welcoming — whether you’re stopping in for a quick drink or settling in for the evening.
